you know the drill - good bits, bad bits, things we need to change as a team / personally etc etc etc.

Post by Midas Mon 21 May 2012 - 22:57

i found it a little hard in the morning, basically because i wasn't going straight to snake and bumping all the way up fast but i think thats just down to the fact so far i haven't had to do anything else, the change gave me good experience and much better field awareness and from behind snake all the time i feel its much harder. Felt playing the 'M' was really productive for us and i enjoyed it and thought i did ok. I still need to talk more but think that will come with confidence. Thought as a team we did well, didn't know much about what was going on at the Teabag side but from what i could gather and was told Budgie and Crilly did well together. On a side note i thought Cookie was a great captain on the day, helped me a lot and wasn't just bossing people around saying, 'this is how we are going to play etc.' took all our ideas into consideration and came up with something i think we all liked and felt worked most of the time. Thought we did well off the field as well helping each other out with various bits and pieces so as a thank you from Delta we let Chaos win Wink overall really enjoyed it and got such an amazing rush again after being out for two months. Thanks a bunch to everyone Smile

Ps. can we put oil on the fire sooner next time? Razz

Bad bits

The fire lmao man really can't male fire
The paint, this has been discussed in depth an will be rectified
The fact we didn't get to play swat which means really it was not a true reflection of the div because the top 2 teams didn't play each other.
Players keeping their heads, running the right lines - comes with experience
The amount of paint being shot or lack of it, not enough paint I'm the air at breaks, locking down lanes, killing people, just don't come off the trigger.
It's as if at time players are taking 3 steps back, and forgetting the basics, communication, discipline, paint by volume and work as a team not individuals.
Good

Team work
Socialising
Everyone is now helping out in all aspects from setting up on arrival to packing away at the end.
The never ending support from sarah, you were fantastic yet again.
Chaos coming second

Really good weekend every one helped out off the field and a huge thankyou to Sarah for all het help... However on the field not happy with performance from delta we just didnt seem to gel at all think we need more communication and definatly more paint down off the break I know I played like ** i should not write stuff like this ** and don't think anybody from delta played to there full potential... I would hope to see a massive improvement from delta next time out I know we can all plat better as previously been proven.

Post by Jon Wed 23 May 2012 - 10:34

well suppose its my time to get this over and done with!!

where to start:

travel - it worked tbh i was later than i hoped but filling van with fuel and all the other stuff we did took longer than I thought so will be looking into this for next time. Could do with trying to get sponge over here during the day I know the 20th im pretty busy at work already.

communication before was good on a whole few lazy people but spoken to them so wont have any problems next time.

setup and put down was superb it almost seemed effortless it was that easy. everyone did something at all times. some could be a bit quicker with kit on the morning but its no real biggy. maybe looking at sorting tent before we start playing next time we had so much spare time.

paint was dogsh!t tbh it shot straight as a dye but was like marbles! it bounced off everything including the posts. already had lengthy discussions into this one so will not be effecting us again.

Its now starting to heat up which will make paint more bouncy we found this last year so we need to find a way of keeping it cool. anyone have an aircon unit?

now onto the playing bit well?

chaos - not too bad we did let ourselves down as a team by not playing to how the other teams were. they played the refs a lot more than we did. deliberately going on runs when hit and getting away with it etc. do we start or stay as we are? anger levels were better though you still did outburst a little tweek!

me personally i didn't have a good day. that can was difficult to play shoot left and get shot from right and vice versa. i made quite a few kills from it but then got taken! i was no where near as mobile this month as last i was lazy!! i was in a front position from the break and should of used it to my advantage although i was getting nose bleeds being so far up the field wtf happened to me playing bc?

tbc

Transport worked well and camping was a piece of piss, although a little rushed with food etc on the night but hopefully next time with testing this time round should be able to nail it.

Chaos as a whole played well, a few cracks coming through with the old communication. As far as the ref's are concerned I think we should stay the way we are going, we had them on side and that made a massive difference. The standard of reffing is improving slowly and with it we need to keep them on side. I know some teams are taking the piss but if we keep our cool and keep advising the refs instead of balling them out I reckon we could have this cracked out in the next couple of tournys. The more cool we keep with them the more they are going to put themselves out to keep us on the good side.

Personally I really enjoyed the tournament although I did realise I suffered a bit with over comfortability at certain times. Didn't make the big moves and got shot hanging out a mile! Going to try and stamp this out next tournament!

Delta, you guys are improving in many areas but please don't forget the basics. Although communication wasn't a massive issue this month remember to listen to your team, not only when in a match but all the time. Most importantly don't forget that all important pause. Make your primary, then get in stop and think. You can be putting a lane down while your thinking but what needs to be going through your head is 'where are they' 'where am I shooting' 'what is coming at me and if there isn't why aren't I moving'. Simple and basic steps which will keep you firmly in the right direction.

Well i guess its time to replay to this Razz

As always i have a good laugh all weekend (Call me maybe? ->) the organisation was bang on everyone doing thair bit and the fire was a sucsess! The paint could have been better but it flew stright at least. Our potter was spot on as per Very Happy Cheers sarah.

Now down to the team, I think delta had a bit of a rought time in the morning but managed to pull our fingers out got our heads in the game and pulled off some decent G5's.
We still need to settle down a bit sooner get our head in the game and shoot some paint like we did in the afternoon. i think our postions where not to bad but i think we could have played them a little better. We lacked a little aggression and comunication as per and is somthing we need to work on a great deal.

Theres always next month boys and girls so bring it on Very Happy

Ogy Ogy Ogy!
