Training May

right iv decided to try and get the ball rolling so to say since we failed at organising the last training day. so i feel we need to decide on a date and make sure we are sorted on all fronts
i.e.
- have exact numbers of people going well in advance of the day
- paint paid for and air aquired possibly the weekend before
- and to also pass the word around to the people who havent checked the forum

just my 2 cents worth. iv posted this mainly coz i want to better myself (as im sure u all do) but also coz my trigger finger is getting very itchy

also for the mods - feel free to delete this post, im sure u will want to do your own

i agree mate. i think in may training the weekend before the tourney would be a good idea? keep people as fresh as possible? i know that might make money tight but just opening the floor up to discussion like my good man JD here

im sure when Jon gets back and has a look at his bookings he will be able to suggest some dates, it might not work out before due to the site being rammed.
Im quite happy to leave this here due to the fact you are showing inititive, pre thought, oranisation skills, self motivation and will really show who is bothered to stand up and be counted.

All the way through I havnt attended alot due to work, and then letting off steam on sat night, but then I can get myself 250miles to attend and there is some players on the team who cant even be bothered to turn up from 10 miles away, some say yes and no appearance, just dissapear totally, when really from all my years of playing I have never had the level of support you guys receive, it has cost me alot more, and I was a hell of alot more dedicated, I used to drive from London to Elsham ( near Hull) every weekend to train and we never missed a session due to lack of commitment / organisation.

BTW Gair did your older brother used to play for Nottingham Tremmor about 6/7 years ago??

Yeah he did, and before that he played for the stupid troopers iv already said to him that ill drag him to a training session lol see if he has gotten slow in his old age

1st May is a game day. Cant do it! 2nd is best bet really. On a whole its when most wont be busy! Otherwise we will have to find some way to work around it!

With the tournament being on the 15th May you are very limited as to when you can do it. Either the 30th, 1st, 2nd May bank holiday weekend or the weekend of the 7th and 8th. Can't the 7th and 8th as there are games days etc booked. Not sure about bookings on the 30th and 1st but I know that the 2nd is a clear day!

i say we do the 2nd, bank holiday so the majority of people should be free (with the exception of JD coz... well he is JD ) also its before the tourney and close to it so people will be as fresh as they can be

what about evening sessions? I'm sure I've read somewhere on here that this is a possibility, obviously it would be for as long but still, could it be thought about?

by the time the field has gone up and gets taken down, not worth it yet, only get an hour or two to play. Alot of work for very little training.

fair enough. how many people are free during the day? if there were enough could we not have a mini sesh during the day and then others turn up after work or whatever?

im probably taking wild stabs in the dark atm but i really want another training session and we would all benifite from one before the tourney as we missed it this month.

kai can you get rach to email an upto date bookings list and ill have a look

and for me anyway, dont know if kai will run it i wont be running a trainins sessin at any point on the bank holiday weekend im not due back by the looks of it till the sunday night maybe monday morning and thats after travelling for some 50 hours. i will need some rest lol.

hey guys just wana give a heads up and apologise for lack of movement on forums and general team business on my behalf, all my uni work is bottle necking now into the next couple of weeks, resultantly forcing myself to skip next training and tourney, as i dont finish properly for summer until the middle of may.

however, as soon as im all done and dusted im more than happy to dive right back in and give 110%, im just sure that you guys can appreciate me taking a little time away from the team to concentrate on my future career.


hope i havent pissed anyone off/became the root of any ill-toned conversation/made anyone feel that im not pulling my weight, and hope to see you all again soon!

i suppose your sins can be forgiven illegal imigrant im not a senior member of the team but that would be fine by me and im sure it will by anyone else, the same may happen to me in June with my A-level exams, but we shall see. Hope all goes well

It has to be Jon, Kai or myself to run a training event due to insurace reasons and also getting the equipment to site.

I can appreciate that you guys want to train before the tournament but the site has to come first, when it boils down to it, its the site that subsidises your paintball and making it cheaper for everyone.

You all had your chance, and basically blew it, so I know that neither Jon or Kai will be bending over backwards for everyone, both are very busy at the moment and if everyone cant sort themselves out with a couple of small requests for the last session, and it is not possible to fit in another session before the tournament then thats the way it has got to be, also know that Jon cant run a game day and training day on the same day.

Looks like i will need to work on monday 2nd, which is a bummer coz my boss gave me every sunday from the 8th off. sorry guys the 2nd a no for me. I guess i should still not play with a broken finger though.

However i will try and pop down before work, just to show my face and prove i do still exsist

I cant do training on the 2nd BUT torny is a deff yes! And even better its at the begining of my 2 weeks off work!

As for azzer and smithy, i may be over stepping the mark a little with this but i think it wud be best to go to a training before u jump into the torny scene. I say this for a couple of reasons
1) we wont know what sort of posistion your best suited for/tend to favor (and im not sure if u will either)
2) it gives u the chance to get to know the team, the diffrent personalitys and wether u feel like u can get along ok with them
3) it give us the chance to know what type of people you are and your overall strengths and weaknesses
4) will give you much more of an insite into speedball and the rules and regs

yeah well said JD, azzer and smithy you may not even like speedball, its a completely different game to woodsball and airsoft. Especially with the positions and stuff like that, also tourneys are expensive and if you go and dont enjoy it, its money wasted. Going to a training session would definitely better then go from there.

but if u think were good a training do we have a chance of been in it

yeah should do, will depend on number obviously and with that the more experienced players will be picked first but if there are spaces and the team thinks your good enough then of course you'd have a chance

Dont worry, its not a trial by fire, im new to the team myself and its mainly so the guys can get to know you and if ur dedicated fun loving guys then no doubt ull be welcome with oped arms (like i was) just learn to walk befoe u try and superman dive into the snake! Ouch...
