Canceling tournies for a field
hey guys and girls the administrative team have come up with an idea i would like to present to the team...
As the title suggests we cancel all tournaments after the may event up until the october 3 man event ( see tournament dates page for further details ). The reason for this is the money people would or have set aside for these events roughly 80 - 90 pound per event would then get put into one collective pot say a total of 150 pounds per person and then we can go and look at buying a full sup air field.
now although canceling the tournaments is a big blow to everyone however with the summer coming up would you rather pay 150 pounds for 2 tournaments and roughly 1 hour total play time or would you rather train twice a week getting at least 3 hours play time per training session?..
along with the better weather also comes the longer nights thus giving members more flexibility with the training times for those who work anti social shifts such as 6pm on wards or 6am - 6pm and so on. It gives people more oppertunities to come to training and less stress on trying to get the time off...
so in short:
Pros of this proposition
more flexibility in training sessions
better value for money
more gun time
alot more training
team skill building
self / team improvment
Cons of proposition
missing the fun of tournaments
less social side of playing i.e. camping
loss of tournament experiance
so i leave it up for debate if there are any other pros and cons you can think of please post
Thanks

Re: Canceling tournies for a field
few more pro's as i think most of the cons have been covered!
If we have our own field we can start to incourage more people onto OTP Delta as we will be able to arrange more training days. The more teams we put out the cheaper tournaments will be with cheaper paint and entrance fee. Training will also be cheaper if we have our own field £5.00 each to cover air transport etc and normal £20.00 per box training paint (site paint only)
You should be able to increase your skill level a lot quicker and we can also look at hiring a pro for a day - nicky t / tommy pemberton ( nexus) etc which would teach you guys so much!!!

Re: Canceling tournies for a field
Just to add with longer days etc we could still get the social side sorted by organising team building events ie:
go karting
go ape
camping
kyaking
or other things along those lines
